1.Introduction:
The Cutter Suction Dredger, crafted with robust steel construction and of the non self-propelled, dismountable type, is a versatile marvel designed to berth and dredge seamlessly in both coastal areas and inland rivers. It operates under conditions akin to navigation area 'A' or below the 'A'-line, as delineated in the code for inland river steel engineering ship manufacture of P. R. China.
This formidable dredger is engineered to excavate and transport cohesive sediment classified below class III, in accordance with the dredging engineering construction technique code issued by the Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) of P. R. China.
The hull is an ingenious assembly of three pontoons—comprising a main pontoon (housing the engine room) and two side pontoons. Each component is meticulously dimensioned for transport via road, rail, or water. The dredger’s rapid connection-disconnection system for the pontoons, achieved through bolts at deck level, hull front and rear, and hooks at the bottom, exemplifies its advanced engineering. Further enhancing its capabilities, the dredger is powered by a Marine engine, with the main engine dedicated to driving the dredge pump and hydraulic pump.
