1.Introduction:
The Cutter Suction Dredger, crafted from durable steel construction and designed as a non self-propelled, dismountable type, offers unparalleled versatility. It can berth and dredge in various water bodies, both coastal areas and inland rivers, adhering to the stringent navigation conditions specified in 'A' level or below in the inland river steel engineering code of P. R. China.
This dredger excels at excavating and transporting cohesive sediments, adhering to the class III standards set forth in the dredging engineering construction techniques by the Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) of P. R. China.
The hull comprises three robust pontoons: one central main pontoon (housing the engine room) and two side pontoons. Each component is meticulously dimensioned to facilitate easy transportation by road, rail, or water. The dredger features a rapid connection-disconnection system for the pontoons, utilizing bolts at the deck level, hull front and rear, and hooks at the bottom. Powered by a Marine engine, the main engine drives both the dredge pump and hydraulic pump, which in turn powers all auxiliary equipment such as the cutter, swing, ladder winches, and the spud rams.
Constructed entirely of welded steel, the hull provides the necessary strength for demanding dredging operations. The side pontoons are securely connected to the main pontoon via bolts, ensuring robust and reliable performance.
