1. Introduction:
The Cutter Suction Dredger is a marvel of steel construction, designed to be non self-propelled and dismountable. It can berth and perform dredging operations in any water bodies, whether in coastal areas or inland rivers, mirroring conditions akin to navigation area 'A' or below the 'A'-line as per the inland river steel engineering ship manufacturing code of P. R. China.
This dredger excels in excavating and transporting cohesive sediment, complying with class III specifications as outlined in the dredging engineering construction technique code issued by the Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) of P. R. China.
Comprised of three pontoons—one central engine room pontoon and two side pontoons—the hull is ingeniously segmented to ensure the YS-CSD450 dredger is easily transportable by road, rail, or water. The rapid connection-disconnection system for these pontoons is achieved via bolts at the deck level, hull front and rear, and hooks at the bottom. The dredger is powered by a robust Marine engine, with the main engine driving the dredge and hydraulic pumps. These, in turn, power all other equipment including the cutter, swing and ladder winches, and spud rams, ensuring seamless operations.
The hull features an all-welded steel construction, providing the essential strength needed for rigorous dredging operations. The side pontoons are securely fastened to the main pontoon using bolts, ensuring structural integrity and durability.
The hull's steel plates are crafted from CCSB shipbuilding steel, ensuring exceptional durability and reliability.
