1. Introduction:
The Cutter Suction Dredger boasts a robust steel construction and a modular, dismountable design, making it a versatile choice for both coastal areas and inland rivers. It can berth and dredge in water conditions matching or below the 'A' line, as specified in China's inland river steel engineering ship manufacturing code.
This dredger excels at excavating and transporting cohesive sediment, adhering to the class III specifications set forth in the dredging engineering construction technique code by China's Ministry of Water Resources (MWR).
The hull is composed of three primary pontoons: one main pontoon (engine room) and two side pontoons. Each component is meticulously dimensioned for seamless transportation via road, rail, or water. The dredger features a quick connection-disconnection system for the pontoons, utilizing bolts at deck level, hull front and rear, and hooks at the bottom. Powered by a Marine engine, the main engine drives both the dredge pump and the hydraulic pump, which in turn energizes all auxiliary equipment such as the cutter, swing, ladder winches, and spud rams.
Constructed with welded steel, the hull provides the essential strength required for rigorous dredging operations. The side pontoons are securely fastened to the main pontoon using bolts.
