The Cutter Suction Dredger is a non-self-propelled, dismountable steel structure designed for berthing and dredging in coastal and inland waters, meeting the standards of navigation area "A" or below specified in China's inland river steel engineering ship code. It can excavate and transport cohesive sediment up to class III, as per the dredging engineering construction technique code issued by China's Ministry of Water Resources.
The dredger's hull comprises three pontoons: a main one (housing the engine room) and two sides, all dimensioned for easy road, rail, or water transportation. The pontoons connect rapidly with bolts at deck level, the hull's front and rear, and hooks at the bottom. A marine engine powers the dredger, driving both the dredge pump and hydraulic pump, which in turn powers the cutter, winches, and spud rams.
The welded steel hull, made of durable CCSB shipbuilding steel plate, ensures the dredger's strength and reliability in harsh environments. The side pontoons bolt onto the main pontoon, facilitating dismountability.
