The bucket wheel sand washer operates on a principle that combines mechanical agitation and water rinsing to effectively clean and separate sand from impurities. At the heart of the machine lies a rotating bucket wheel assembly, which is partially submerged in a wash tank filled with water and sand mixture. As the bucket wheel rotates, scoops attached to it dip into the sand-water slurry, picking up a mix of sand and contaminants.
As the scoops ascend out of the slurry, the water-laden sand mixture is lifted and carried to the rim of the bucket wheel, where it is subjected to centrifugal force.
