The steel-constructed, non-self-propelled, and dismountable Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD) is designed to berth and perform dredging operations in any waters, encompassing coastal zones and inland rivers, under conditions akin to those designated in navigation area "A" or beneath the "A"-line stipulated by the People's Republic of China's Code for Inland River Steel Engineering Ship Manufacture. This dredger is proficient in excavating and transporting cohesive sediments classified up to Class III, as outlined in the Dredging Engineering Construction Technique Code issued by the Ministry of Water Resources of China.
The hull structure comprises three pontoons: a central main pontoon accommodating the engine room, and two lateral pontoons. These components are proportioned to facilitate transportation of the YS-CSD450 dredger via road, rail, or waterway. The dredger boasts a rapid pontoon connection-disconnection system facilitated by bolts at the deck level, at the hull's bow and stern, as well as hooks at the underside. Furthermore, it is powered by a marine engine, where the main engine drives both the dredge pump and the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump, subsequently, powers additional equipment including the cutter, swing and ladder winches, and the spud rams.
