1. Introduction:
The Cutter Suction Dredger, with its robust steel construction and non self-propelled, dismountable design, is engineered to berth and dredge in various waters, encompassing coastal areas and inland rivers. It adheres to the navigational standards equivalent to area 'A' or below, as defined by the Chinese code for inland river steel engineering ship manufacture.
This versatile dredger is adept at excavating and transporting cohesive sediments, conforming to Class III specifications outlined in the dredging engineering construction code by the Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) of P. R. China.
The hull is ingeniously constructed with three pontoons-one main pontoon (housing the engine room) and two side pontoons. These components are meticulously dimensioned to facilitate transportation by road, rail, or water. Equipped with a rapid connection-disconnection system, the pontoons utilize bolts at deck level, hull front, rear, and hooks at the bottom. The dredger is driven by a powerful Marine engine, which propels the dredge pump and hydraulic pump. In turn, the hydraulic pump powers various equipment, including the cutter, swing and ladder winches, and spud rams.
Constructed entirely from welded steel, the hull provides the necessary strength for rigorous dredging operations. The side pontoons are securely connected to the main pontoon via bolts.
The steel plates used for the hull are CCSB grade shipbuilding steel plates.
