1. Introduction:
The Cutter Suction Dredger, crafted from robust steel construction, is a non self-propelled and dismountable marvel. This versatile dredger is designed to seamlessly berth and dredge in various waters, including coastal areas and inland rivers. It operates under similar conditions to navigation area 'A' or below the 'A'-line, as specified in the code for inland river steel engineering ship manufacture of P.R. China.
This dredger is engineered to excavate and transport cohesive sediment classified below class III, as per the code for dredging engineering construction techniques issued by the Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) of P.R. China.
The hull is composed of three pontoons: one main pontoon (housing the engine room) and two side pontoons. Each component is meticulously dimensioned to ensure the YS-CSD450 dredger can be transported via road, rail, or water. The dredger features a rapid connection-disconnection system for the pontoons, facilitated by bolts at the deck level, hull front and rear, and hooks at the bottom. Additionally, the dredger is powered by a marine engine, with the main engine driving both the dredge pump and the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump then powers all auxiliary equipment, including the cutter, swing and ladder winches, and the spud rams.
With an all-welded steel construction, the hull provides the necessary strength for demanding dredging operations. The side pontoons are securely fastened to the main pontoon using bolts.
The hull steel plate employed is CCSB, a shipbuilding-grade steel plate ensuring durability and resilience.
